Muskeg can lose support as seasonal thaw changes the ground, so Mason Sand should not be asked to stabilize a cabin pad or unsurfaced access. This washed material has a smooth texture. It fits the later work on a project, where a softer surface or workable masonry blend is needed. It may also be placed in recreational areas that call for a soft feel underfoot at the surface.
Set pavers only after geotextile and the gravel support beneath the area have been prepared for local ground conditions. Mason Sand can serve as the leveling material below the pavers and as joint fill for interlocking pavers. It also works in mortar, stucco, and grouting, or in sandboxes and volleyball courts where its soft feel is useful. That order keeps the finish material separate from the ground-control work required on Alaska sites.

Common Uses
Mortar & Stucco Mixing
For masonry mortar, stucco, and grout, mason sand supplies a fine aggregate that blends into a smooth, workable mix. Its uniform grains help with even spreading and solid adhesion on masonry work.
Paver Installation
Set pavers on a leveled mason sand bed, then sweep it into the joints of interlocking units. The fine material seats the pavers evenly and fills the joints for a firm finished surface.
Sandboxes & Play Areas
Mason sand is washed for a soft feel in children's sandboxes and play spaces. The processing removes coarse material and debris, leaving sand that is comfortable on hands and feet.
Volleyball Courts & Recreation
Used as volleyball court surfacing, mason sand forms a uniform, soft surface for barefoot recreation. The cushioned layer helps lessen the impact of landings during play.
Why Choose Mason Sand
Ultra-Fine, Smooth Texture
Thorough washing and fine grains give mason sand an even, smooth texture. It works well in mortar and finish applications that call for a clean, workable sand.
Washed & Impurity-Free
Washing removes silt, clay, and organic debris from mason sand. The result helps mortar mixes stay clean and provides a suitable material for recreational surfaces.
Consistent Grain Size
Evenly graded mason sand performs predictably in mortar, paver bedding, and recreational areas. Uniform particles help keep the outcome consistent from one job to the next.
Safe for Recreation
With its clean composition and soft feel, mason sand is used for sandboxes, playgrounds, and sports courts. It creates a gentle surface for play areas.
